If you find yourself in the Boise Area, its a nice day trip north on Hwy 55 to Cascade, McCall and on to New Meadows, it takes a little over 2-1/2 hours, have lunch and continue on Hwy 95 to Council, Fruitland, the Interstate 84 back to Boise Area (about 3-1/2 hours). You’ll see mountains, Payette river, Cascade reservoir, Payette lakes, evergreens, country towns, resort towns, canyons, and some great food. Then on the trip from New Meadows back to the Boise valley you’ll see ranches, the headwaters of the Little Salmon river and the Weiser river, more canyons, dessert mountains, rolling grassy hills, and farmland.
